We said goodbye to our friends from OH, MN, and TX and returned home on Friday. Such a blessing of a week together in ministry.

Our Final day Serving in Atlanta

We sorted over 13300 lbs. Of food at Atlanta Food Bank in the morning and took children from the Stewart Center to the pool in the afternoon. We also left some hula hoops, a soccer ball and playground balls for our friends at the Stewart Center.

Stewart Center, Spending time with Children

We spend each afternoon in Atlanta with children and they have touched our lives. Today Emily B. taught a girl how to play the piano and we also worked on a paint project and the children wanted to help us, so they did!

Atlanta Community Food Bank with friends from MN

We serve each day with a few youth from MN and today we sorted through and packaged 9803 lbs. Of food that will feed 6535 people.

Seeing God Through Children

Here is a snapshot from the Stewart Center, a center for inner city youth that has been around for many years.

We spent yesterday afternoon there and will be there each afternoon this week. The children are full of love and truly a joy.

Atlanta Food Bank

We will be serving all week at Atlanta Food Bank. Today we had a tour and hunger 101 workshop where we learned about the Food Bank and hunger issues. We will be working in the warehouse all week in the mornings. We reflected on what we learned, particularly the fact that we throw away 20% of food.

Our Journey Has Begun

We have arrived Atlanta and are enjoying the evening with our wonderful host family from Redeemer Lutheran in Atlanta. Thanks to Leigh, Zoey, Noah and the whole William family for their hospitality. We enjoyed time with them eating dinner, swimming and spending time in our Faith Lutheran group preparing for our week of serving together and growing in faith.

Tomorrow we look forward to waking up and worshipping at a Historic Baptist Church in Atlanta.
